FAQ

How are the prints produced?

Our prints are produced using the giclée printing technique, which ensures superior color accuracy, detail, and longevity. We partner with expert fine art printers in the UK, who utilize archival-quality papers, such as Hahnemühle Photo Rag and Pearl paper, to create museum-grade prints. Each print is meticulously crafted to capture the essence of the original artwork, providing a visually stunning and lasting piece of art for your collection.

What is the difference between a “signed in plate” signature and a hand-signed print?

A “signed in plate” signature refers to the artist’s signature that has been digitally incorporated into the print during the production process. This method is more eco-friendly as it eliminates the need for shipping prints back and forth between the gallery and the artist for hand-signing, thus reducing the carbon footprint. A hand-signed print, on the other hand, is signed by the artist.

How do I care for my limited edition print?

To ensure the longevity of your limited edition print, it is important to handle it with care. We recommend framing the print using archival-quality materials and displaying it in a location that avoids direct sunlight and extreme humidity. Regularly dust the frame and glass to keep it looking pristine. If you need advice on framing, our team is happy to assist.

How do I authenticate my print?

Each limited edition print comes with a certificate of authenticity that includes Richard Garfield’s name, the title of the artwork, the edition number, and Richard Garfield’s signature. The certificate ensures the legitimacy of your print and its place within the limited edition.

What is the difference between a limited edition print and an open edition print?

A limited edition print is produced in a specific, limited quantity, typically numbered and signed by the artist, making each print a collectible piece of art. Once the edition is sold out, no more prints of that particular image will be made. An open edition print, on the other hand, is not limited in quantity and can be produced in an indefinite number. Limited edition prints are generally considered more valuable due to their exclusivity.

How do you ensure the quality of your prints?

We are committed to providing our collectors with the highest quality art prints. Each print is produced using state-of-the-art printing technology and premium archival materials, ensuring vibrant colors, sharp details, and long-lasting durability. We collaborate with expert fine art printers who specialize in museum-quality giclée printing, and we carefully inspect each print before it is shipped to ensure it meets our exacting standards.

What does “giclée print” mean?

A giclée print is a high-quality art reproduction created using an inkjet printer. The term “giclée” comes from the French word for “spray,” referring to the method used to apply the ink onto the paper or canvas. Giclée prints are known for their exceptional color accuracy, detail, and longevity, making them a preferred choice for fine art reproductions. Our giclée prints are made using archival inks and papers to ensure they remain vibrant and beautiful for many years.

How do you handle limited edition print runs?

Each limited edition print run is carefully managed to ensure exclusivity and maintain the value of the prints. Once an edition is sold out, no additional prints of that image will be produced. The edition number and total run size are clearly marked on each print, often alongside the artist’s signature. Limited edition prints are typically more valuable and sought after by collectors due to their rarity.

How do you select your fine art printers?

We partner with expert fine art printers who have a proven track record of producing museum-quality prints. Our selection criteria include the quality of their giclée printing technology, their use of archival inks and papers, their commitment to sustainability, and their ability to handle the unique needs of each artist we represent. Our printers are based in locations that allow for efficient and secure shipping to our global customer base.
