I. The Playtest is officially over, and the Private Alpha is here!

Beginning in November, we’re excited to transition fully to the Private Alpha. This is an important phase for the game as we continue to iterate on core systems, but slowly shift our focus towards onboarding and long-term engagement. The Alpha launch will bring:

• Native PC Chaos Agents Client on Steam
• On-demand Multiplayer Matches
• On-demand Iron and Bronze Tournaments
• Dozens of new Agents to trade for
• And many, many more features that will roll out from November 8 - December 15

What does this mean for Chaos Playtesters?

All playtesters will automatically get Alpha seats and all active playtesters will be first in line to get onboarded in Phase 1. Perhaps most importantly though, we’ll need your help to find and squash bugs in the Steam build so please report bugs via our Discord!

All Alpha players get forever access to Chaos Agents — from Alpha to Early Access, Retail Release, and beyond! Playtesters get even more for their early support — all seasonal content and DLC for Chaos Agents for the first two years!

II. Prepare to Challenge for the Gold World Invitational Title Belts on December 15th!

The first World Invitational ended in spectacular fashion, with Andrew_Gross grabbing both the Brawlmaster and Survivalist Gold Medals and MasterTyler grabbing the Shardmaster title.

Now, it’s time to get ready for the second World Invitational Championship on December 15th where the three Gold Titles will once again be up for grabs.

We want as many of our players to qualify for the Gold Invitational as possible, and are open to going over the designated 64 players in the Gold Tournament as long as there are sufficient players with Gold tickets. To earn a Gold ticket and participate in the Gold Tournament, you’ll have to win your way through the ranks: Silver tournaments reward Gold ticket entries, and Bronze tournaments reward Silver ticket entries, so keep your eyes out for opportunities to earn your way into the next Invitational Championship!

III. Dedicated Server Support and “Forever Game” Announcement

This led to thousands more people signing up for our Alpha, and hundreds of them have already joined our Discord — drop in and say “hi” to our new friends as they wait to get Alpha access!

The next piece of coverage from Inverse will officially announce that Chaos Agents will support official dedicated servers at its public launch, along with a commitment to making Chaos Agents a “Forever Multiplayer Game”.

This announcement will be accompanied by blog posts from the Chaos Agents team, which will go into much more detail on the Dedicated Servers feature and our team’s commitment to Chaos Agents being a “Forever Multiplayer Game” — a PvP multiplayer game that players will continue playing “forever” and that “can’t be killed off”.

IV. Republic Campaign Launch and Expectations

In another exciting development, we are launching an equity crowdfunding campaign for Chaos Agents on the Republic platform. Republic is a crowdfunding platform focused on investors - you may have heard about them for their work with Skybound Entertainment.

There are 2 main reasons for the Republic Campaign:

Sales and Monetization Learning: Since we are not selling Agents and cosmetics for Chaos Agents for the Alpha timeframe, the Republic campaign acts as a proxy for sales and demand metrics that will help us optimize the business model for Chaos Agents to make it as friendly to players as possible.

Game Visuals Polish and Agent Generation: Throughout the development of Chaos Agents, we have prioritized building the core gameplay engine and systems, but now with our audience expanding with the Alpha and beyond, the overall polish and look-and-feel are increasingly important. The funds from the Republic Campaign will contribute directly to art and polish efforts.

There is absolutely no expectation for our playtest and Alpha players to participate in the Republic Campaign — your support in helping us build this game together is more valuable than any amount of money.

However, if you have friends and family you think will be excited about owning a small piece of Chaos Agents and Popularium, we’ll have a link available for you to send them — all investors in our Republic Campaign will get Alpha access, and there are some really cool perks attached to the Campaign.
