I. Launch Day - Patch 1.9.22
Happy Release Day!
We are very excited to release 1.9.22! It’s been a long time coming and brings with it a lot of quality of life improvements and some features that we’re super excited about!
One of the top requested features is to be able to browse agents and check out their skills. We’re excited to release the Agent Directory. Not only can you browse your Agent contracts but you can also view any of our released agents. Beyond seeing their names, skills, and contract ownership we’ve also added in a ton of statistics about that agent. From basic information like KOs/match to percentiles of where this agent stands relative to other agents, there’s a deluge of data for you to sink your teeth into.

Continuing with ‘more data is better’ we’ve brought back and expanded a previously available feature - Leaderboards. We’ve added in a ton of data and ways for you to configure a leaderboard in a way that excites you. From Broker specific information to Agent specific information we’re excited to bring you more information about all the Agents in our Chaos universe.

On the website front we’ve wanted to bring an ‘information archive’ to your hands for a long while and have finally reimagined it as part of our website v3.0 release. With a Blog, a Lore page, and more, you’ll be able to get the latest info about what’s going on in the game and see the archive of past information. No more digging through old Newsletters — instead you can just load up the Blog and find everything at your fingertips.

We’ve also made some balance changes and bug fixes during the match experience. You can read the full Patch Notes here.
II. Community Q&A
At the beginning of September, we hosted a Community Q&A with Richard, Arka, and Jon from the Popularium team. We walked through our milestones and accomplishments, the current plan for the next few releases, and did a bunch of Q&A with the community. We recorded the event and have it available on our YouTube channel.
We had an amazing time connecting with the community and diving into what the future holds for Chaos Agents. Richard thoroughly enjoyed interacting with our Brokers and addressing their questions. In fact, the response was so overwhelming that we exceeded our scheduled one-hour session due to the sheer number of questions coming in through the chat.
If your question wasn’t answered during the event, don’t worry - Richard is currently working on providing written responses for everyone who participated. We truly appreciate your patience and enthusiasm.
This Q&A session was a testament to our communities dedication and excitement for Chaos Agents, and we can’t thank you enough for your ongoing support. The energy and passion from our Brokers motivate us to keep pushing the game forward. We’re also thrilled to announce that we’ll be hosting another Q&A with Richard Garfield very soon. Stay tuned for more detail!
III. Upcoming Official Tournaments
All Official Tournaments (Iron, Bronze, and Silver) count towards the Second World Championship and the next Gold Tournament in December.
Our next official Iron tournament will be hosted on Thursday, September 19th at 10am PT. We will also be hosting a spin the wheel prize give away after the Iron tournament finals.
Following the Bronze tournament, we will be hosting the next Silver Tournament Thursday, September 19th at 4pm PT. As a reminder, you’ll need a Silver Ticket to join this tournament which you can earn by winning a Bronze Tournament (Hint hint: the morning Bronze Tournament is a great opportunity).

IV. First Chaos GOLD World Championship Report: Schumaniac, The Marshall, and a Tale of Woe
Many representatives of the Chaos Agents team went to Indianapolis last month for Gen Con. We crowned our two inaugural Chaos World Champions (Andrew_Gross and MasterTyler), met many members of the community, and were generally overwhelmed by the response we received.
Our technical director and president, Schumaniac, wrote a fantastic Championship Report documenting the rise and fall of his hopes for victory as he valiantly fought his way through the gauntlet of qualification for the Finals.
It was a fantastic trip, and we’re excited to share some perspectives from it with you all.
