Revered Chaos Brokers Zhawk, Luchapetal, MrThrifty, and Pickles,
I congratulate you on the initiative that you have shown in deducing the identity of the Xandrian Handlers whom you have been battling against in recent Chaos Training Musters.
I can now reveal that this test was to help select four Chaos Broker trainees from the Academy to compete against four of the most promising Xandrian Handlers and their selected Rhodian Agents.
While for the rest of Altareth and the Firmament, this will simply be another Tournament to enjoy, I can disclose, in confidence to you and your fellow Brokers at the Academy, that the stakes of the results are much higher than they seem. As you have no doubt learned via Red Sun News and other sources, the Xandrians, supported by the Padoccia Trade Union, have been requesting rights to get licensed as Chaos Brokers and start their own Brokerage Houses. While the Convocation supports equal rights for all species, and as a Clausian balance is of utmost to me, I can convey in no uncertain terms that the Xandrians cannot, under any circumstances, be permitted to participate in real Shard wars and campaigns as Chaos Brokers.
Note that Xandrians, like all other species across the Firmament, have the ability to join the Chaos Battle School and become licensed Chaos Agents. However, no other species has the ability to become licensed Chaos Brokers unless selected by the Chaos Academy through a process that has been experimented with and refined over a very long time to ensure the safety of Brokers, Agents, and by extension the economic balance of the Firmament.
This was the process that the Academy used to locate and select each of you and your fellow Broker trainees, and this process is guarded as a top secret for compelling reasons that you may learn over time as you advance in your career as a Chaos Broker. However, for now, you must take my and the Convocation Council’s world on faith when we say that it’s of utmost importance that the current selection process remain intact, and that implies that the Xandrians cannot be allowed to join the Chaos Academy and become fully licensed Chaos Brokers.
While we can’t disclose much more at this time, your performance in this Challenge will have significant implications on the resolution of the Xandrian claim, and our ability to negotiate with the Xandrians, the Rhodians, and the Padoccia Trade Union.
The stronger your overall victory over the Xandrian Handlers–measured in the difference in Win Conditions earned by the 4 of you and the 4 selected Xandrian Handlers–the stronger our leverage in nipping this threat in the bud. If you allow the Xandrian Handlers to win, then the situation will be more difficult for the Convocation High Council’s to control.
I apologize for not being able to share more specifics with you, and the responsibility that you now bear. This however, is but a taste of the responsibilities that come with being an influential Chaos Broker in the Firmament. You have been chosen because we believe in your ability to bear such responsibilities, and there are few who can.
May the Alusian Path guide you, and Let Chaos Reign.
